What we want

Under general supervision, the Digital Content Specialist II supports various university communications channels for the Division of Marketing and Communications.

What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years of communications or marketing experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Experience in the Adobe Creative Suite applications XD and Photoshop.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.

  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, concise documentation and reports.

  • Ability to collaborate successfully with internal and external teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects.

  • Experience in writing for digital applications and ensuring that content is accessible.

  • Experience creating visual media content for various communications platforms, such as graphics and motion graphics.

  • Experience in UI/UX development and implementation for digital signs and mobile apps.

  • Must know federal, state and university requirements on accessibility for electronic information resources and the ability to help in compliance in this area.

  • Solid understanding of HTM5 and CSS3.

  • Familiarity with content management systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Communications Tools Support - Create accessible visual media content for various communications channels, such as animations, graphics, or videos. Assess content and coordinate with university leadership in optimizing digital content to improve user experience.

  • End User Support - Assist with end-user support for digital content accessibility, SEO for digital content, and internal communications through email, mobile app, or other communications channels.

  • Content Review and Auditing ​- Audit digital content for maximum user experience throughout various distribution channels, including mobile apps and digital signage. Assist with auditing content for internal communications through various platforms, including email and the Marketing and Communications Intranet, and electronic accessibility. Performs other duties as assigned.
